HISTORYThe company Alibona Litovel was founded in 1912 by a shop assistant Mr. Petr Hlaváček. It produced roasted grain coffee, sauerkraut and jam. In 1917 the factory was registered as “Litovelská továrna poživatin Petr Hlaváček” (Petr Hlaváček - Factory of Consumables, Litovel), and the main production program was set to production of dried vegetables. Origin of the trademark Alibona is date to the period before World War II.

During the period of 1912 - 1948 the company was a family company. However, in 1948 it was nationalized. Since 1950, the trade name was changed three times, to “Severomoravská Fruta n.p.” (North Moravian Fruta), “Hanácké lihovary a drožďárny n.p.” (Region of Haná Distilleries and Yeast Factories), and “Seliko”. The factory was markedly reconstructed and modernized in the 1980’s. The original company Alibona was re-established in May 1992 by initiative of restitutes by way of delimitation from the company Seliko Olomouc.

PRESENT STATEAlibona a. s. is a principal producer of fruit and vegetable products, like stewed fruit, sterilized single-brand vegetables, sterilized vegetable mixtures, vegetable sauces. These products are supplied to the market under the trademark Alibona. Exceptional but not negligible part of the production assortment is formed by agents for domestic preserving and processing of fruits and vegetables, sold under trade names Deko and Pektogel.

The main products of the company are green peas in salt syrup in packaging intended for both retail shops and gastronomy market. Another important product lines are well processed roots - carrot, celery, beetroot. The assortment also comprises of cucumber and zucchini.

Stewed fruit is the product line, in which Alibona, as the only producer, annually offers the widest range of product made of raw materials, predominantly of domestic origin - gooseberry, apricot, greengage, plum, pumpkin.

As a matter of course, we offer fruit and vegetable products for customers who, by medical reasons, can use synthetic sweetening agents only. These are products with reduced energy value (DIA).

Alibona a. s. considers the quality to be the crucial issue of its actual as well as future success. Taking care of permanent high quality of all products is ensured by the certified quality system ISO 9001. In the long term, this care is supported by investments in machinery and ecology, with the objective of fulfilling EU directives for foodstuffs industry. Other important factors for the level of quality are long-term relations with the raw materials suppliers. The quality of the product “Toskánská omáčka” (Tuscan sauce) was appraised by the professional jury of the Gastronomy Fair in 2000 and it was awarded the prize “Zlatá Salima” (Golden Salima).

Since the beginning of the modern independent activities, the company revenue is increased annually and the volume of output is about 12,000 tons. Alibona became a well-established and reliable partner for both domestic and international clients, for supermarket chains, specialized gourmet manufactories as well as foodstuffs industry, for which the company supplies vegetable mixtures and vegetable semiproducts for the production of e.g. Tartar Sauce and fish specialties.
